International Online High School is a virtual high school program that serves students from the United States and around the world. IOHS provides flexible online courses and diploma pathways for students who need an alternative, accessible way to complete their high school education.
Who is IOHS designed for?
IOHS is designed for students of all ages who are working toward earning a high school diploma. This includes traditional students, adult learners, homeschool students, credit recovery students, and individuals returning to school after time away.
How quickly can I finish a course or program?
Completion time varies depending on the program, the number of courses needed, transfer credits, and each student’s pace. IOHS offers flexible learning options so students can move through their coursework in a way that fits their schedule and goals.
Do I need to attend live classes?
No. IOHS courses are designed to be completed online without required live class sessions, giving students the flexibility to study when it works best for them.
What kind of support is available if I need help?
Students may request support when needed, including video conferencing by appointment. Our team is here to help students stay on track and feel confident as they work through their courses.
Can adult learners enroll at IOHS?
Yes. IOHS welcomes adult learners, and there is no maximum age limit to enroll. Whether you recently left school or have been away for several years, we can help you take the next step toward completing your high school education.
Credit Recovery & Individual Courses
Can I take IOHS courses to make up credits for my current school?
Yes. Students may take individual IOHS courses for credit recovery or to make up credits needed at their current school.
Do I need my school counselor’s approval before taking a credit recovery course?
Yes. If you are currently enrolled in another school, we recommend getting approval from your school counselor or administrator before registering to make sure the course will meet your school’s requirements.
Will IOHS send a transcript to my current school?
Yes. After successful completion of a course, IOHS can send an official transcript to your current school upon request.
Can I take more than one course at a time?
Yes. Students may take up to three courses at a time.

Are course materials included online?
Yes. Course materials are included online, so students can access what they need through the learning platform.
Enrollment & Registration
What happens after I submit the registration form?
After you submit your registration form, IOHS will review and confirm your registration. Once confirmed, you will receive a payment link and next steps for beginning your course or program.
Do I need a previous transcript to enroll?
A previous transcript is only required if you want to transfer credits and graduate through one of our diploma programs.
Can transfer credits reduce the number of courses I need?
Yes. Eligible transfer credits may reduce the number of courses you need to complete before earning your diploma.
How do I request a transcript evaluation?
You can request a transcript evaluation through our website. Once submitted, IOHS will review your previous academic records to determine which credits may be eligible for transfer.
What should I enter if I was referred by another school or program?
Please enter the name of the school or program that referred you, along with the city, state, and the representative or counselor’s email address. This helps us properly document your referral and follow up if needed.

Is IOHS a legitimate high school?

Is IOHS accredited?
IOHS is a private school operating under the same legal framework as homeschool education and is exempt from accreditation, consistent with U.S. law.
How is IOHS recognized as a private school?
Homeschools and private schools in the United States are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and state education authorities. Colleges, universities, and the U.S. military may not discriminate based on homeschool or private-school status, and admissions criteria are applied uniformly to all applicants. IOHS graduates are eligible to apply to higher education and military service under the same standards as all students.
Will I receive an official diploma?
Yes. Students who successfully complete all graduation requirements through IOHS will receive an official high school diploma.
Can I use my IOHS diploma for college, trade school, employment, or the military?

How do I request my transcript after completion?
You can request your official transcript through Student Services after completing your course or program requirements.

Can students with an IEP enroll?
Yes. Students with an IEP may enroll at IOHS. We encourage families to contact us before enrolling so we can better understand the student’s needs and discuss available support options.
Is IOHS a good fit for parents, adult learners, or students returning to school?

What if I have been out of school for several years?
That is okay. IOHS works with students from many different educational backgrounds. We can help review your situation, discuss your options, and provide support as you work toward completing your education.
What if I don’t know how many credits I have?
IOHS can help guide you through the process of obtaining your previous transcript and reviewing your completed credits.

Tuition & Payment
How much does IOHS cost?

How much is one individual course?
One individual course is $115. Visit our Courses page for options.
Are books or materials included?
Yes. Required online course materials are included.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. Payment plans are available for the Accelerated Diploma Program.
When is payment due?
After you register, you will receive a confirmation email with your fee or down payment amount. Payment must be submitted before you can begin your course or program.
How will I receive my invoice?
Invoices and payment information are sent by email.
